Bank Statement Analyser
Read a statement, see where the money wentLoad your statement CSV or Excel export from your bank
Download your statement from net banking as CSV or Excel rather than PDF — nearly every bank offers it, and the figures come through exactly rather than being guessed at from a picture of a table. Most Indian bank exports are recognised automatically. If yours is not, set the columns yourself below.

What this bank statement analyser does
Load the CSV or Excel export of a bank statement and get the picture you would otherwise build by hand: what came in, what went out, where it went, and what repeats every month.
- Totals and balances — credits, debits, net movement, opening and closing balance and the average balance across the period
- Month by month — receipts, payments and net for each month, so a trend is obvious
- Where it went — entries sorted into categories from the narration: salary, rent, loan instalments, interest, tax and GST, cash, transfers, utilities, fuel and the rest
- Who it went to — the counterparties you pay most, ranked by value
- Regular payments — amounts that recur month after month, which is how standing instructions and instalments surface
- Cash movement — deposits and withdrawals in cash totalled separately, the figure most often asked about in a scrutiny
Why CSV or Excel and not PDF
A PDF statement is a picture of a table. Extracting figures from it means guessing where the columns are, and every bank lays them out differently, so the results cannot be relied on. A CSV or Excel export carries the actual numbers. Every major Indian bank offers one in net banking, usually beside the PDF download.
Using it for a loan application
Lenders look at the average balance, the regularity of receipts and whether cheques have bounced. The average balance shown here is a simple average of the closing balance on each day that has an entry, which is not the same as the monthly average balance a bank computes over every calendar day. Treat it as an indication, not as the bank's own figure.

How this works. The page loads a spreadsheet library into your browser and uses it to read the file you select. The figures are worked out and shown by your browser. This site does not receive your statement and does not keep it. Nothing is claimed here about how your browser, your device, your network, any software installed on your computer, or the network delivering that library behaves, and none of those are under our control.
A bank statement is sensitive. Think before you load one. If the account is a client's, or belongs to someone else, or you are under any duty to keep it confidential, use software you control on a machine you control instead.
What the figures are and are not. Categories are worked out by matching words in the narration, so they will not always be right and must be checked before anything is relied on. This is not a reconciliation, an audit, a certificate, or advice of any kind, and it does not verify that the statement itself is genuine or complete. No responsibility is accepted for any loss of, damage to or corruption of a file, for any incorrect or incomplete output, or for any loss of privacy or confidentiality however arising. Keep your original and check the result before you act on it.
